Annie Tam Kam

Professor Annie Tam Kam Lan, GBS, JP, earned her Bachelor of Social Sciences (First Class Honours) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and completed a post-graduate course in Administrative Development for Hong Kong at Oxford University. She is a Registered Social Worker with extensive experience in public administration, having served as the Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare (2012–2017) and Director of Lands (2007–2012) for the HKSAR Government, as well as holding 13 other significant positions across various Bureaux and Departments between 1980 and 2007. Currently, she contributes to academia as an Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Social Science at CUHK, an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at HKU. In addition to her academic roles, she is actively involved in public and community service, holding leadership positions such as Chairperson of the Executive Committee of New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, Vice-Chairman of Good Shepherd Residential Services Limited, and Director and Honorary Secretary of The Dragon Foundation. She also serves on committees and councils for organizations like the Hong Kong Housing Society, the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation, and Caritas Hong Kong, contributing her expertise to social welfare, housing, and health initiatives.
